Activities - Get Involved
The Newcomers Club of Oak Park & River Forest, Illinois is always
looking for new members. If you're interested or want more

The interests of the members set the activities of the Newcomers Club.
The following list reflects some of the activities planned for the Club
this year.
FAMILY ACTIVITIES
Bring your kids and join with other members for fun times at
holiday events, plays, circuses and many other outings for the

PLAYGROUP
Your children can interact with playmates of varying ages in
a non-structured environment. The playgroup meets year-round on Mondays from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and is perfect for moms
and kids and/or new moms and babies. The group meets at the United
Lutheran Church Nursery (located at Greenfield & Ridgeland
in Oak Park) from September to May, and at local parks from June
to August - see calendar for information. Email

SOCIAL EVENTS
Each year we schedule events for the entire Club to get together
to socialize. These have included wine and cheese parties, holiday
parties, candlelight bowls, a murder mystery dinner and a silent

BOOK CLUB
Do you love to read the latest bestseller? This group provides
great motivation with monthly meetings which include interesting
conversation and a fun evening out. Email Beth Niemann. |
COURTESY/ MEALS IN NEED
We arrange meals for members who are celebrating a new birth
or are mourning the loss of a loved one. Email Beth Vlerick. |

PHILANTHROPY
We help local charities with various activities, such as clothing
and food drives and meals for the homeless. It's a great way to
meet other members and make a difference in our community. Email Sarah Stein |
